Conversion Event Definition
In Voucherify, a conversion event is a trigger that makes a referral successful. The conversion event is defined in the referral program builder and may take two forms:
- Referee redeems a referral code – the default conversion event is the usage of a referral code. This means that the referral is successful once an invited friend uses the referral code to make a purchase or set up an account. Note that in Voucherify, referral codes can also be used as discounts, so the redemption of the code can not only mark the referral as successful but also grant a discount to the referee.
- Custom event – Voucherify will count a successful referral after receiving an API call with a predefined custom event. In this scenario, redemptions of referral code enable referees to apply the discount (if assigned) but don't trigger reward for referrers. These can include actions such as ride completion, booking, or profile completion.
The conversion event builder is based on top of a multi-level reward engine and real-time events tracker. You can use different conversion events to quickly launch personalized and advanced referral campaigns.
